Mitochondrial Diseases Conference 2024: the Late-Breaking News abstract submission is now open

This is your chance to be actively involved in the Mitochondrial Diseases Conference!

Submit your abstract for Late-Breaking News now and share your knowledge and research progress with the entire Mito Community!

The Late-Breaking News session will be held on Saturday, October 26th, 2024 during the Mito Conference. It is addressed to all scientists who want to share their latest studies with the Mito Community of researchers and patients. The session consists of the presentation of an important topic that can be considered “breaking news” by the time of the Mito Conference. The results of the study could be published in the second part of the year or should have already been published.

Those interested are invited to submit abstract no later than September 6th 2024.

Abstract presentation guidelines

  • Abstracts must be submitted in English in a Word file format;
  • Abstracts must contain the name(s) and affiliations of all author(s)/speaker(s);
  • In case of different authors, please indicate the name of the ‘presenting author’ and his/her email address;
  • Provide a short specific title indicating the nature of the investigation. The background and goals of the study should appear clearly to the reader. The methods and results must contain data, and the conclusions should be clearly expressed;
  • The title may not exceed 150 characters. The abstract text may not be longer than 2500 characters  (excluding disclosures);
  • All abbreviations must be defined the first time they appear in your text. Example: Primary  Mitochondrial Disorders (PMDs);
  • Use generic drug names;
  • Abstracts from commercial entities are not admitted;
  • Disclosure of potential conflict of interest (e.g. grant support, consultancy, membership on advisory councils, speaker’s bureau) by all authors and source of funding are mandatory. Each listed author should prepare a one sentence statement that will be published with the abstract.

Please, make sure to state your correct e-mail address. After having submitted your abstract, you will receive a confirmation by e-mail.

Deadline for abstracts submission

Abstracts should be sent by September 6th by email to scientific.office@mitocon.it indicating “Late Breaking News Abstract Submission” in the subject line and enclosing a form with the contact person’s details (name, surname, email, telephone).

Abstracts Selection

Three (3) abstracts will be selected for a 15-minute oral communication during the “Late-breaking news” session. All accepted abstracts will be displayed as posters, presented during a Poster Session and reported in the Conference Abstract Book.

The presenting author must register and attend the Conference. Authors are required to be present at their posters during the “coffee break session poster” as indicated in the program.

Notification

Notification of acceptance of submitted abstracts for the oral communication will be sent to the corresponding authors by September 20th, 2024.
